This Truck Goes Up For Sale Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
My father restored this truck. The power steering has too much play in it. Some say an alignment may do the trick, though I have a feeling it may take more than that.
It starts up and purrs nicely. Sounds good and doesn't seem to dropping or burning oil. I'm told that it has a 350. Mechanics tell me that it needs to be timed. It doesn't take off when you gun it. And, sometimes it starts right up but if it sits for a long time, the carburetor needs to be primed before it starts.
My dad wasn't a professional mechanic or body man so it's not in primo condition, but it's looking pretty good, and in the right hands, this truck will be awesome.
Friends tell me to ask a jillion dollars for it because it is such a collectible. I myself did own a 55 Chevy Cameo Pick-up when I was a teenager so I do get how much we could love these antique trucks. However, I am not expecting to get rich here. $17,900 seems to be on the lower end of what I'm told I could get for this rare commodity. Make me an offer, and we'll go from there.
