An Accountability Tool for You
Are you “Externally” or “Internally” motivated? And, how do you get the most out of YOUR mindset?
This was covered in our training last week and I promised to provide an “Accountability” tool to use during this training time.
Here is a quick video that explains the tool: Click Here to Watch the Instructional Tool

Your Level of Commitment
Here is one way that a trainer/coach/mentor/broker can assess how committed YOU are to succeed:
- Do you seek ongoing growth, development, progress, and KNOWLEDGE in your field?
- Do YOU show up to the training and coaching you have available to you?
- Are YOU on time?
- Do YOU participate?
- Do YOU ask questions?
- Do YOU do your best to apply what YOU learn?
- Do YOU study and meditate on the material on YOUR own time after the training?
- Do YOU do YOUR off-work-time-assignments, (homework)?
So Far…
Wednesday you were presented the first part of the “Comfortable with Uncomfortable” module. The content included some of these things… so far:
1) Bruce Springsteen Principle: It’s not how you feel that’s the problem. It’s how you feel about how you feel. Springsteen: “Do I get nervous? No, that’s adrenalin!” Get comfortable with adrenaline.
2) Emotions are your friends. Instead of “resisting” them, we want to be sensitive to them; welcome them; feel them; process them. Even if it’s uncomfortable. “Feel the fear, and do it anyway.” Keep moving forward even when you don’t “feel” like it.
3) Not fully covered … 50% of the public welcome interruptions. It’s your job to interrupt people who are comfortable but want more. Make them uncomfortable with their limiting “comfort” — take THEM out of their comfort zones. They’ll love you for it. They need you and don’t even know it! Remember, they don’t know they can use your product. You gotta tell them. You’re a fireman. Save them, whether they think they want to be saved or not!
4) Haven’t covered yet… Conflict is not the problem. The problem is the problem Help them with a solution to the problem with the service you share with them. Sharing is leading, and leading is one of the most important elements to selling. Leading is a contrary, conflicting, controlling, confronting thing to do. Does it feel uncomfortable? Get used to it. Salespeople learn to be comfortable with this form of discomfort.
5) Touched on but not fully covered yet… Learn to dance. Good communication is like a dance. Lead well, and they will be able follow. If they don’t know to follow, follow them until you can lead them to their solution.
6) Not covered yet… Beliefs: We all have limiting beliefs about what we think we can do and what we really can do… and who we think we are and who we really are and can become. We can also get contaminated with limiting beliefs about the career of sales. This causes discomfort. Until your coach helps you with these limiting beliefs directly, feel the discomfort that comes from these beliefs as you work and allow yourself to be comfortable with the discomfort. (Yes, I’m going to gift you with an NLP “Belief Change Process” soon. Until then, use the “Tree Climbing Process” with those pesky limiting beliefs. You may be surprised how it can reset such mental nonsense.)
Your BONUS Gift
Speaking of the “Tree Climbing NLP Process,” did you fully realize that this NLP Process has great potential to process limiting beliefs, and uncomfortable thoughts, and feelings?
Here are some rhetorical questions:
- Have you looked at the process yet?
- Did YOU read or listen to the intro?
- How about the examples?
- Did YOU give the process a chance by testing it?
- If you didn’t, what prevents YOU?

These Tools Belong to YOU. Please, use them!
Certainly, YOU are committed. I urge you to take a look at the tool you have been provided with. You and Lori Chamberlain paid for it. A saw does a carpenter no good if she doesn’t take it out of the tool box. But what if she’s too busy to use her saw?
The little boy was late for school as he pushed his bicycle to the bike-rack. The teacher asked, “Why are you pushing your bike? Why didn’t you ride it so that you could arrive on time?” He answered, “I was so late that I didn’t have time to get on the bike.”
Make time and mental concentration for your training and coaching… and, (which might be even more impactful), time and mental concentration to do your off-work-time-assignments so that you arrive happily and promptly in life.
Questions?
Please shoot over any questions you want answered in upcoming training by email and I’ll be sure to be prepared to give you a satisfying answer.
Also, is there a subject you want to make sure we nail for you? Please, let me know.
This is YOUR training… I’ll design it around YOUR interests and needs.
Thank you.
