This Shows Your Level of Commitment
Here is one way that a trainer/coach/mentor/manager/employer can tell how committed YOU are to succeed AND how intent YOU are to succeed at a HIGH level:
- Do YOU show up to training?
- Are YOU on time?
- Do YOU participate?
- Do YOU ask questions?
- Do YOU apply what YOU learn?
- Do YOU study and meditate on the material on YOUR own time after the training?
- Do YOU do YOUR off-work-time-assignments, (homework)?
So Far…
Last week you were presented the “Comfortable with Uncomfortable” module. The content included these things:
1) Bruce Springsteen Principle: It’s not how you feel that’s the problem. It’s how you feel about how you feel. Springsteen: “Do I get nervous? No, that’s adrenalin!” Get comfortable with adrenaline.
2) Emotions are your friends. Instead of “resisting” them, we want to be sensitive to them; welcome them; feel them; process them. Even if it’s uncomfortable. “Feel the fear, and do it anyway.” Keep moving forward even when you don’t “feel” like it.
3) 50% of the public welcome interruptions. It’s your job to interrupt people who are comfortable but want more. Make them uncomfortable with their limiting “comfort” — take THEM out of their comfort zones. They’ll love you for it. They need you and don’t even know it! Remember, they don’t know they can use your product. You gotta tell them. You’re a fireman. Save them, whether they think they want to be saved or not!
4) Conflict is not the problem. The problem is the problem Help them with a solution to the problem with the service you share with them. Sharing is leading, and leading is one of the most important elements to selling. Leading is a contrary, conflicting, controlling, confronting thing to do. Does it feel uncomfortable? Get used to it. Salespeople learn to be comfortable with this form of discomfort.
5) Learn to dance. Good communication is like a dance. Lead well, and they will be able follow. If they don’t know to follow, follow them until you can lead them to their solution.
6) Beliefs: We all have limiting beliefs about what we think we can do and what we really can do… and who we think we are and who we really are and can become. We can also get contaminated with limiting beliefs about the career of sales. This causes discomfort. Until your coach helps you with these limiting beliefs directly, feel the discomfort that comes from these beliefs as you work and allow yourself to be comfortable with the discomfort. (Yes, I’m going to gift you with an NLP “Belief Change Process” soon. Until then, use the “Tree Climbing Process” with those pesky limiting beliefs. You may be surprised how it can reset such mental nonsense.)
Your BONUS Gift
Speaking of the “Tree Climbing NLP Process,” did you fully realize that it has great potential to process limiting beliefs, and uncomfortable thoughts, and feelings?
Here are some rhetorical questions. (Please do not answer these questions on the group chat?)
- Did YOU read or listen to the intro?
- How about the examples?
- Did YOU give the process a chance by testing it?
- If you didn’t, what prevented YOU?
These Tools Belong to YOU. Use them!
I know YOU are committed. I urge you to use the tool. A saw does a carpenter no good if he doesn’t take it out of the tool box. But what if he’s too busy to use his saw?
The little boy was late for school as he pushed his bicycle to the bike-rack. The teacher asked, “Why are you pushing your bike? Why didn’t you ride it so that you could arrive on time?” He answered, “I was so late that I didn’t have time to get on the bike.”
Make time and mental concentration for your training and coaching… and, (which might be even more impactful), time and mental concentration to do your off-work-time-assignments so that you arrive promptly in life.
TOMORROW’S TRAINING: “Bless and Be Blessed”
The objective of tomorrow’s training is to create a deep foundation of MOTIVATION by setting your “Purpose” and your “Identity.” These are the frames that not only make you an 800 pound silverback, they make what you do deeply satisfying, and your life rich!
Speaking of “rich,” tomorrows models of thought are designed to skyrocket your income!
Question: Where does an 800 pound gorilla sit?
Answer: Anywhere it wants to.
What is YOUR true potential that lies immediately in front of you, my brothers?
This: YOU can have the freedom to sit anywhere YOU want to sit, do whatever YOU want to do, live where ever YOU want to live, and be whoever YOU want to be.
Be that mighty silverback. Show up tomorrow on time, ready to focus.
(Also, please shoot over any questions you want answered tomorrow in a text so I can be prepared to give you a satisfying answer.)
See you there, fellow apes!
Thank you, brothers
