Don’t Be a Scaredy Cat, Part 1

The Fine Art of Trusting

Summary: If you are not succeeding, it’s because you’re not trusting.

This post is the first of a series of four articles. These brief lessons on the virtues of trust have the potential to help anyone that has had trouble with love, (Haven’t we all?), finances, and other high-value pursuits.

Luanna’s Story Maybe a Lot Like Yours

“I feel like a failure. I can’t believe I’m this age and I still don’t have my act together,” says Luanna, an attractive 30 something, unemployed mother of two.

“But honey, you’re a smart hardworking girl. Things will turn around for you,” replies her mother as she tries to encourage her stressed out daughter.

“Yeah, right mom. I know. Two marriages down the drain. I can’t seem to work for anyone. I have another failed business. And my kids drive me to drink.”

With all the motherly wisdom she can muster up, Luanna’s mom responds with a sense of impatience in her voice, “Oh don’t be doom and gloom, Luanna.”

“All I know is I feel like giving up sometimes. I don’t know what to do,” complains Luanna further.

Her mother quips, “Well, at least you have your health.”

“Cute mom. I’m the fattest I’ve ever been, I have zero energy, and all I want to do is hide under the blankets and sleep all day.”

Luanna adds sarcastically, “Thanks, mom, I feel so much better now.”

Luanna feels like a failure. She’s frustrated and disappointed. This lady, often referred to as a being clever and full of talent, has a poor opinion of herself. On the other hand, a part of her does believe that at some level she is bright, driven, and is willing to do whatever it takes to succeed.

What is Luanna’s problem?

It may surprise many to find out that Luanna is doing what all people who feel stuck do, she is failing to use one of the most fundamental aspects of success. She needs more “trust.”

Surprisingly, it turns out, this thing called “trust” is an essential ingredient to success. Sadly, it’s also one of the most difficult things to do.

But, that’s not all. Poor trust causes poor mental programming, and so many problems can arise.

Here is a list of some of the sad symptoms that come from having trust issues:

  • Perfectionism
  • Procrastination
  • Lack of Self-Confidence and Even Self-Loathing or Self-Sabotage
  • Being Overly Critical
  • Loneliness
  • Addiction
  • Lack of Motivation, Low Energy
  • Anxiety, Paranoia, or Habitual Worrying
  • Chronic Frustration, Hopelessness, Even Depression
  • Narcissism
  • Co-Dependency
  • Victimized, Taken Advantage Of, Walked On
  • Socially Awkward
  • Fear of Failure
  • Sales Call Reluctance
  • Not Feeling Worthy
  • Lack of Empathy, Cruel, or Selfish
  • All Talk and No Results

If you dig deep enough with the intent to diagnose the cause of such common but crippling disorders, you will find “trust-deficiency.”

By looking through the lens of “trust,” you find understanding and learn ways to influence your thought patterns. Your outcomes no longer are left to chance. This is a way to feel like you are in control of your destiny.

What Do You Want?

Do you want a love that brings peace and joy? (It’s all too easy to find miserable love.) Now you’ll know a process to increase your chances that you’ll finally get the real thing.

Do you want to get your finances in order? Follow this mind recipe, and it will be hard to fail.

The bottom line is that it all boils down to trust and these next few articles are here to equip you to master this paradoxical resource.

Paradoxical?

Yes. The times we don’t feel safe enough to trust are the very times to trust more. On the surface, it all seems counterintuitive. How is it possible to trust when it seems like there are so few things and people we can trust?

And, how can that help us to succeed safely?

Stay tuned for the second post in this series entitled, “We Succeed In Direct Correlation to How Much We Trust.”

With this second article, you learn the reasons why trust is an imperative piece of the puzzle in putting together the future you desire. For trust is the why for all that we fail and all we achieve.
